Things Don’t Happen To You, You Create Them

Have you ever experienced a synchronicity of events happen in your life? A succession of things occurring at the same time, or over a period of time, that push your life towards a specific direction? Or even leave you with no direction at all?

Say, for instance, that you moved house, you got divorced, your dog died, and you left your job all in the same year. I promise this is a real life case, I’m not making this up.

If you have, then congratulations! You may think I’m being ironic given the example, but I’m not. It shows that at some level, you have trust in letting life unfold its way, instead of being in over controlling mode. And that is very good.

Things happen for a reason, and as Steve Jobs said, “you can’t connect the dots looking forward, you can only connect them looking backwards.” One day you’ll connect the dots, even if you can’t figure that out today.

You may think that all these things happen by chance. That you have nothing to do with them. That things just happen to you. But what I’m going to suggest to you is that, conscious or unconsciously, you created all these circumstances. Such is the power of our minds.

So whenever something happens in your life, I suggest you ask yourself, what is it that I’m holding in my mind to have created this?
